Liebster Award, thanks Morrighan!

Liebster Award

Morrighan has chosen to nominate me for the Liebster Award!

I really appreciate these awards. It makes me feel a part of things here at WordPress.

The rules are: publicly thank the person that nominated you; then, tell 11 things about yourself. Then, answer the 11 questions asked of you, and, in turn, make 11 questions for your own 11 nominees. Link to those 11 nominees, and tell them about it at their blogs.

So, a huge THANK YOU goes to Morrighan, of The Enchanted Solitaire blog. Her blog posts deal with many interesting subjects, from injustice in prisons to religion to animals to Valentine’s Day.

Morrighan’s questions are:

1. Describe yourself in eleven words.

Newshound, birdwatcher, traveler, pro peace, pro animals, pro justice, pro science.

2. What’s your favourite way to relax?

Looking at what happens in a beautiful natural area.

3. What does the term ‘witch’ mean to you?

As Morrighan already said: “That’s a hard one, it can mean many things to many different people.” Novelist Roald Dahl claims witches are from Norway and want to kill all children. Quite some people hearing the word “witch” imagine a woman with the ability to turn a frog into a prince (or the other way around). A few centuries ago, many women and also quite some men were persecuted cruelly for imaginary accusations of “witchcraft”. Sometimes, this still happens. Very few of the self-described witches of today would recognize themselves in these depictions.

4. There is the last slice of cake at a tea party, do you take it?

Yes, if no one else wants it; and if I have not eaten enough cake already.

5. What’s your favourite hot beverage?

Cocoa.

6. What is your witchy/pagan/occult speciality?

Like Morrighan: “I really don’t think I have a speciality.”

7. Name something that made you laugh so much you cried.

Anton Chekhov’s short plays.

8. Favourite food?

Fruit salad.

9. Favourite perfume?

4711.

10. Favourite film?

Fahrenheit 9/11.

11. If you could be anyone from history, who would you be and why?

President George W Bush of the USA. Then, unlike the real George W Bush, I would not start the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
