Breivik ‘rightist politician, not crazy lone wolf’

This video from Britain says about itself:

Video proof that Tommy Robinson (EDL) is a LIAR!

1 April 2012

On the BBC’s, The Big Question”, EDL leader, Tommy Robinson aka Stephen Yaxley Lennon claimed he did not impersonate Anders Breivik, the Norwegian mass murderer and EDL supporter who slaughtered over 90 children. He claimed he was wearing a “hood” and “goggles” therefore looked like a “frog” and what he actually said was “ribet”. Here are the videos of both events which proves he is a LIAR.

After the bloodbaths in Norway, in the capital Oslo and on Utøya island, property of the labour youth movement, more and more information about Anders Breivik, who has confessed the crime, gets public.

Part of this information is about Breivik’s links to xenophobic rightist political movements in other countries; like the fascist English Defence League in England, and Geert Wilders’ PVV party in the Netherlands.

Wilders provided much of the inspiration for Breivik’s ideology. The title of the long political manifesto, published on the Internet by Breivik, is “2083 A European declaration of independence”. While “2083” is a reference to George Orwell’s novel “1984” and to 1683, when the Austrian emperor’s armies beat the Turkish siltan’s forces, Wilders’ first manifesto after he started his own party in 2005 (with Wilders still as the only member, as the party leader is afraid of internal party democracy) was called Declaration of Independence. Not just such an important part as the title, also many other parts of the killer’s manifesto refer to Wilders.

Many people on the political Right do not like to be associated with mass murder of children, as happened on Utøya. One of the ways various political Rightists dissociate themselves from Breivik is by claiming that Breivik is “mad“, so supposedly non-political. And that Breivik was supposedly an isolated invidual, without links to xenophobic political tendencies (rather a strange thing to say, when one looks at the parallels between Breivik’s writings and “mainstream” European and US Islamophobic politicians’ discourse. Breivik used to be chair of the Oslo youth branch of the “Progress Party”, the biggest anti-immigrant party in Norway).

However, a psychiatrist denies both Breivik supposedly being crazy and Breivik supposedly being an isolated individual on his own.

Translated from Dutch NOS TV today:

“Anders Breivik is a politician like Bin Laden”

Anders Breivik, according to psychiatry professor Hjalmar van Marle, does not have any serious psychiatric disorder. “This is clearly a politician who should not be underestimated,” says van Marle.

According to Wikipedia, Professor van Marle is specialized in forensic psychiatry.

He comes to that conclusion after examining the 1500 pages of the manifesto Breivik put on the Internet. “While reading the manifesto, I have seen no obvious signs of personality disorders.”

The fact that the criminal after his action did not kill himself, according to Van Marle, points in the same direction. “Usually something like that ends in suicide of the perpetrator. That’s often out of desperation, lack of perspective or suspicion.”

Bin Laden

The man [Breivik] was not socially isolated. “Then you must be careful not to use any label like ‘autistic'”.

Van Marle calls Breivik “a politician like Osama bin Laden”, but one of the fundamentalist Right.

That someone is capable of such a thing is impossible to predict, says van Marle. “Unless all blond young people with right-wing fascist ideas are locked up, but that’s not a solution of course.”
