Purple heron, no Baillon’s crakes

Today, again to the Baillon’s crake site.

I did not see the Baillon’s crakes today.

Birdwatchers had come all the way from Brussels, Belgium, for the crakes.

A greenshank in the shallow water.

A water rail in the bank vegetation.

A purple heron flying overhead. Also on that species: here. And here. And here.

Barn swallows flying. Great cormorants on the windmill.
