This 27 November 2015 video was recorded at the Gaatkensplas lake near Barendrecht in the Netherlands.
Among common pochards and tufted ducks, a bufflehead duck swims there.
This North American species is rare in Europe.
The male duck returns to Barendrecht every winter since 2004. It is a mystery where he spends the summers.
I’m a school kid trying to make a difference – your advice would be a huge help 🙂
