France starts investigation into Epstein

The French justice department has started an exploratory investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. The chief prosecutor in Paris examines whether the American businessman may have committed crimes on French territory and against French underage girls.

The prosecutor started his investigation on the basis of “elements” received by his office and after consultation with US authorities.

Epstein was arrested in the US in early July for allegations of widespread abuse of underage girls. He had just landed with his private jet from Paris, where he owned a luxury apartment. …
