The international accountancy and advisory organization KPMG no longer wants to sponsor the British Prince Andrew. Insurance broker Aon has also told the Financial Times that it disassociates itself from the prince. According to the newspaper, the companies want to protect their own reputation now that there is much controversy about the link between Prince Andrew and the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
KPMG is a major sponsor of Andrew’s business initiative Pitch @ Palace. The accounting firm says it has already decided at the end of October to stop sponsoring Prince Andrew‘s corporate initiative.

The news follows the interview Prince Andrew gave to the BBC last week. Critics labelled the interview as “one of the most amazing interviews ever” and “disastrous and extremely painful”.
In the interview, the Duke of York discussed, eg, his ties with the US American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. He was convicted in 2010 for sexual abuse. Prince Andrew is accused of participating in Epstein‘s abusive practices. He is said to have had sex in 2001 with a 17-year-old girl.
