Moonie religious cult blesses Florida school massacre weapons

This 20 February 2018 video from the USA says about itself:

Gun owner destroys rifle after Florida shooting: ‘Now there’s one less’

Gun owner Scott Pappalardo has destroyed his AR-15 rifle in response to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school shooting. Pappalardo posted a video of himself explaining his decision before chopping up the semi-automatic weapon. He asks: ‘Is the right to own this weapon more important than someone’s life? … I don’t think so’.

Church blesses assault weapons because ‘returning Christ’ will pack an AR-15

This non-sarcastic news item reminds me of this sarcastic comment on the Florida school massacre, perpetrated with an AR-15:

The Florida school shooting proves we need to arm every child over the age of six months for their own protection. Americans’ insistence about their right to guns is tied in with their Christian belief system. As we all know, when Jesus was asked what he would do if someone slapped him on his right cheek, he responded: ‘Load my AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and fire at random strangers in a shopping centre in Nazareth.

The pro-Trump neonazi Internet site the Daily Stormer does not go as far as arming six-month olds. They want firearms for 15-year-old school pupils as ‘solution’ for school shootings.

Meanwhile, Trump continues rant about arming ‘very talented teachers — and others’: here.

The Bob Brigham article continues:

Parishioners in Pennsylvania are planning to attend church services armed with AR-15 rifles so that they can be blessed, WNEP reported.

“This will be a big thing for us. It’s a new stage for us because it incorporates the rod of iron, as it is in Revelations. Revelations talks about the returning Christ ruling with the rod of iron”, said Tim Elder.

Sanctuary Church and Rod of Iron Ministries is an offshoot of the Unification Church [aka the ‘Moonies’], founded by the late Sun Myung Moon. It is led by his son, the Rev. Sean Moon.

“This rod of iron is the AR-15, in today’s terms”, Elder claimed.

Elder is referencing Revelation 2:27.

“And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father”, the King James translation reads. Other translations refer to an “iron scepter” instead of “rod of iron.”

Sun Myung Moon also founded the conservative Washington Times.

The AR-15 blessing ceremony will occur in Dreher Township in Northeast Pennsylvania. The Moon family moved their Kahr Firearms factory to nearby Blooming Grove in 2015.

The Rev. Sean Moon attended the Kahr Firearms grand opening, which is run by his brother, Justin Moon.

“We are so inspired to be in this land, so different from other states in which we’ve been”, said Reverend Sean Moon, Sanctuary Church.

Kahr Firearms moved to Pennsylvania to be able to manufacture so-called, “Tommy Guns” — semi-automatic Thompson submachine guns. The Prohibition-era weapon is also known as the ‘Chicago Typewrite.’

“We had to look for more gun-friendly state in northeast. Pennsylvania as a large state is most gun-friendly northeastern state”, Justin Moon explained.

“It’s the minority that keeps on saying we have an issue, issue is decided”, Justin Moon argued, adding “we love freedom, we love our guns, we’re not going to give them up.”

… parents of students at nearby Wallenpaupack South Elementary School worry about the AR-15 “blessing” event.

‘SHE’S IN KING DAVID CEMETERY. THAT IS WHERE I GO TO SEE MY KID NOW’ School shooting survivors and family members of those lost in the Stoneman Douglas massacre spoke out in a heartbreaking listening session on school shootings at the White House Wednesday. Andrew Pollack, whose daughter Meadow was killed, spoke movingly of not sleeping until something was done. President Donald Trump proposed the arming of 20 percent of teachers, opening more mental hospitals and strengthening background checks. Twitter was not pleased with the president’s cheat sheet reminding him to listen. 1. Dear Friends and Activists,

The most encouraging thing we’ve seen in the last couple days is the
mass mobilization of teenagers, speaking out, demanding action on gun
control reform, calling out the NRA for all its specious BS in
defense of gun manufacturer profits. We are hearing the voices of our
future members of Congress and perhaps even presidents in these young
voices, leading the political way now.

It’s too soon to talk “politics” say the perpetual kick the can down
the roaders. So what, is it still too soon too talk about the
previous school massacre, or the one before that, or the one before
that? And we’re still not even back to January yet.

FL Governor Rick Scott just demanded the resignation of FBI Director
Wray, because a tip to a local FBI office was not fully acted upon.
Never mind that Scott’s own state agencies knew all about the
violent, disturbed kid in Parkland. By Scott’s own standard he should
    himself resign.

Here are some more people who should immediately resign in FL: Anyone
who voted for all the gutting of control laws in FL, “stand your
ground” and everything else, or signed them, and that’s you too, Rick
Scott. These are the same people who just TODAY voted in the FL
legislature to refuse to even allow a debate on banning assault
weapons. Out of office, all of them, NOW!

Don’t just blame one overloaded FBI local field office. The fact is
that the gun wild buying orgy in America in progress is so out of
control the FBI can’t possibly keep up with all the would be mass
    killers.

Here are some more people who should immediate resign: Any member of
Congress who voted last year to make it easier for mentally ill
people to buy guns, and the guy who signed it into law. That’s you,
    Trump.

The fact is there are not enough metal detectors in the world to
protect all our schools, and churches, and concerts, and sports
events, and everything else. The lunatics who commit these massacres
will just shop around for another so-called soft target.

If Parkland, FL, had been invaded with swarms of mosquitos, would
they try to wrap every man, woman and child in mosquito nets and
otherwise just throw up their hands? Would they say, we’ll just have
to be at the mercy of the mosquitos? No, they would drain the swamp
    breeding all these mosquitos.

Drain the swamp, remember drain the swamp? In this case, the NRA
itself is the swamp, of murderous hatred, with their militant
propaganda, talking about clenched fists and everything else.

Parkland had been named last year as the safest city in FL. If this
is the most safety we can expect, no wonder the young people are now
up in non-lethal arms. The teenagers who are taking real political
organizing action now, they are the real “good” guys and gals, not
some never there to stop anything mythical civic-minded Rambo.

What the NRA paid off members of Congress will try to do now is make
sure any gun “reform” bill passed has so many holes in it that it
will not work. Then they can try to say, “See, gun control does not
work.” What is critical is that we stand strong for REAL reform.

    1) Background checks EVERYWHERE, including all gun shows for sure,
not even debatable, and even beyond that a prohibition on any private
gun transfer without the involvement of a licensed gun dealer,
PERIOD. And background check records must include not only mental
health problems, but domestic assault incidents and any other report
    of violent behavior.

    2) Universal national-wide gun registration and licensing, state
level is fine. Without gapless, robust registration, background
checks alone will not cure. You can’t even drive a car without a
registration, you can’t even fish without a license. We, the PEACEFUL
law-abiding people, deserve at least as much protection as fish. In
particular, this would tend to flag people amassing ridiculous
arsenals, the hallmark of a lot of these unbalanced sickos, so the
FBI can pay them a little visit for a chat.

    3) No assault weapons for anyone in a civil society! Cause hey, ya
know what, if you want to get your rocks off turning targets into
hamburger, join the real military and stay there. Cause ya know what
else, the Second Amendment does not frame itself in the context of a
“well regulated militia” for no reason. What part of “regulated”
    don’t some people get?

The biggest lie out there is that the Supreme Court said all guns in
all hands is OK. Scalia wrote the Heller decision, and he said no
such thing in it. His decision was limited to a hand gun confined to
the home. People roaming the streets vigilante style with assault
    weapons, no Antonin way!

The right not to be mass murdered is inalienable. The right to play
with assault weapons like they’re sex toys is not. We say, “People
With Guns Kill More Than People Without Guns.” You can too.

  2. This petition is taking off. Credit card companies could block assault weapon sales, but only if they feel a ton of pressure now while gun control is in the news. Can you add your name today?

    –Nita and Shaunna

Last week, a young man entered a school with an AR-15 rifle and killed 17 students and teachers. That’s the same military-grade rifle used to kill 58 people in Las Vegas. And 49 people at the Pulse nightclub. And 27 people at Sandy Hook Elementary. And so many others.1

Kids are being murdered and Congress has done nothing to stop the sale of these assault weapons–they are more worried about losing their campaign contributions than people’s lives. But they are not the only ones who can do something.

Companies like PayPal and Apple Pay have already banned the purchase of firearms using their services.2 Now we’re calling on Visa, Mastercard, and other credit card companies to stop allowing people to buy assault weapons with their credit cards. A new report from The New York Times explains these companies have the power to do this, but they won’t act unless customers demand it.3 And there is no time to waste–more lives will be lost while we wait for Congress to act. Will you add your name to this petition?

Tell Mastercard, Visa, and other major credit card companies: “Refuse to process all sales from retailers who sell assault weapons.”

    Sign the petition

This past weekend, the country watched in awe as brave students in Florida who survived one of the deadliest school shootings rallied and pleaded for more than “thoughts and prayers”–they want action to pass commonsense reforms to curb gun violence.4

UltraViolet members must stand with these students and pursue creative solutions in the face of Congress’ cowardice. If credit card companies like Visa and Mastercard block sales from retailers who sell assault weapons, guns intended to kill people en masse will be harder to purchase.

Plus, we’ve run campaigns like this in the past with allies like Color of Change, and won. After Charlottesville, credit card companies stopped processing donations to dozens of white supremacy groups because of the violence they inflicted and encouraged.5 If we act now, we can block sales of assault weapons using major credit cards.

Will you demand Visa, Mastercard, and others stop processing sales from retailers who sell assault weapons?

    Thanks for speaking out!
