Officials and supporters of Henriette Reker, who was attacked and severely injured in a knife attack on Saturday, celebrated her victory after she was elected Mayor of Cologne on Sunday.
According to NOS TV in the Netherlands today, the 44-year-old German who attempted to murder the candidate in the mayoral elections in Cologne, Ms Henriette Reker, and four other people, has a long career as a nazi.
The October 2015 anti-refugee knife attacker in the 1990s was a supporter of the Freiheitliche Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, a party which was banned for its open Adolf Hitler worship. In 1994, Ms Reker’s would-be assassin was arrested in Luxembourg while participating in a march in memory of Rudolf Hess, Adolf Hitler’s second in command.
