Trump ’emergency’ dictatorship to build wall?

This 27 January 2019 video from the USA says about itself:

Caller: Government Shutdown is Crushing Me Financially

Caller is a federal worker who is personally affected by the government shutdown.

Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney said President Trump would use emergency powers to build a wall on the US-Mexico border if Congress continued to block funding in budget talks soon to take place in a bipartisan congressional conference committee: here.

TRUMP READY FOR SECOND SHUTDOWN President Donald Trump is prepared to shut down the government again or declare a national emergency if Congress won’t give him money for his border wall, according to Mick Mulvaney. The acting chief of staff told CBS Trump didn’t want another shutdown, but was “willing to do whatever it takes to secure the border.” Mulvaney refused to directly answer a question about whether government-contracted employees would be reimbursed for wages they missed during the 35-day shutdown. The National Butterfly Center in Texas has filed for a restraining order to stop the construction of a border barrier across its land.

TRUMP THREATENS VIOLENCE President Donald Trump threatened that his supporters could turn violent if he didn’t get his way. “I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of Bikers for Trump,” he said. “I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.” [HuffPost]

Trump again “jokes” about extending his presidency: here.

  1. The Trump shutdown has ended — but now the Trump administration could begin processing permits for offshore drilling exploration again.

Last week a federal judge blocked the Interior Department from processing permits for offshore drilling exploration, arguing that during the shutdown unfunded federal agencies were prohibited from doing the required work. With employees returned, however, all bets are off.

With permits delayed while Trump kept the government closed, and governors and attorneys general up and down the coast joining onto legal actions against offshore drilling exploration, right now is the time to increase the pressure to block Trump’s offshore drilling expansion for good — flooding congressional offices and holding rallies across the country to demonstrate steadfast opposition to offshore drilling (South Carolina’s Republican Attorney General just joined a lawsuit against it!)

HUGE NEWS, — a federal judge just blocked the Trump administration from moving forward with issuing permits for offshore drilling exploration during the shutdown.

This is a serious opportunity — it buys us a short window to mobilize to block Trump’s offshore drilling expansion for good.

Here’s the thing: the Trump administration knows this is bad. Since the administration announced its overall plan last year to expand offshore drilling into waters that have been off limits for decades, we’ve seen MASSIVE backlash in coastal regions that would be devastated in the event of an oil spill, including in some deep-red areas where Trump is relying on public support to push his agenda.

Governors up and down the coast have made it clear that they won’t stand for this drilling expansion. And just days ago, the South Carolina Attorney General became the first Republican to join a lawsuit of coastal states against it.

Announcements like these show that winning this fight IS possible, even with the deck stacked against us. It’s critical that we show our strength — flooding congressional offices with angry calls — so that the administration decides it’s not worth it to follow through on this drilling plan
