New spoonbill breeding colony on Dutch island

This video from Italy is called Spatola (Platalea leucorodia) – Eurasian Spoonbill.

This spring, spoonbills have established a new breeding colony in the reedbeds of Westerplas lake on Schiermonnikoog island, the Netherlands.

In 1991, spoonbills started breeding on Schiermonnikoog. Until this year, there was just one colony, in the east of the island (about 200 nests now).
