GERMANY – Leading banker accused of racism agrees to resign
Thilo Sarrazin, a board member of Germany’s central Bundesbank embroiled in controversy after he made disparaging remarks about Muslims and Jews in a book, has agreed to resign, sparing the government of having to decide whether to dismiss him.
In the space of two weeks, a concerted campaign has developed in Germany to defend the racist views promulgated by Thilo Sarrazin in his new book Germany Abolishes Itself: here.
