Hooded merganser in the Netherlands


This video is about Hooded Mergansers – Serreta capuchona.

The hooded merganser is native to North America.

Only rarely, this species crosses the Atlantic. It was seen five times in Britain; also in Iceland and the Azores.

On 29 November 2007, a male in first winter plumage was seen in the Broekbos near Biddinghuizen, in the Netherlands. It is still there.
