In Wood River, Illinois, two Black men captured on video an office kicking them out of Walmart for wearing face masks — during the coronavirus pandemic. Not only is the COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately affecting Black and other minority communities, but the coronavirus pandemic has also sparked an uptick in racism across America, several studies have found.

In this particular viral video, two Black men were able to videotape an officer kicking them out of an Illinois Walmart simply for wearing COVID-19 face masks, despite COVID-19 and the recommendations of CDC and other groups to wear face masks to protect yourself amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
