Today, over 8,000 people demonstrated on the Museumplein square in Amsterdam, the Netherlands against the TTIP and CETA trade deals, planned between the European Union, the USA and Canada.
The demonstration was by the trade union federation FNV, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, the Dutch Consumers’ Union, the Dutch Dairymen Board and other farmers, and others.
The demonstrators expressed their solidarity with the government of Wallonia. They refuse to sign the CETA deal, which means the Belgian federal government cannot sign it, which means that the European Union cannot sign it.
