Juvie Rose-breasted Grosbeak On The Patio – August 29, 2016

A juvie Rose-breasted Grosbeak male stopped in at the Cornell Feeder Watch cam for awhile on Monday afternoon. Notice the stout, conical bill used for cracking open seeds. Juvenile males have similar plumage to adult females, but see if you can notice the rosy wash on the breast and underwing coverts of this juvenile that confirms it as a male!
