Sorry, I made the comment to the wrong post. It should go to the Great Spotted Woodpecker. The red area on the head indicates that it is a juvenile one or it is a Middle Spotted Woodpecker. Do you know?

It is a young great spotted woodpecker, as the blog post says. Middle spotted woodpeckers are still rare in the Netherlands, though they are increasing.
