Baby skates born in Dutch aquarium

Translated from Ecomare museum, on Texel island in the Netherlands, about their aquarium:

Ray babies born – 07/15/12

For a while, there have been living rays’ and sharks’ eggs at Ecomare. Now three of those eggs have hatched. The babies are thornback skates. The new additions are doing well. Often they hide under the sand and you only see three small tails. But sometimes one of the three may be seen wonderfully at the window. Then you can see them well. As small as they are, they are complete ….. up to the tiny spines on their tails.
