From daily The Morning Star in England:
Jubilee target for Sex Pistols fans
MUSIC: Punk fans are hoping to make the Sex Pistols’ classic single God Save the Queen number one during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Campaigners want the anti-monarchy anthem which was denied the number one in 1977 to take its rightful place in June.
The track was originally denied airplay and although it sold enough to reach the top spot in the charts the official number one was awarded to The First Cut Is The Deepest by Rod Stewart.
Planned British jubilee protest on Sunday June 3 – see here.
