Iraq war ‘diversion’ from Afghanistan: Harper
Wednesday, April 01, 2009
The U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 was a “diversion” from the international mission in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Stephen Harper told a British television network Tuesday. …
Harper’s remarks appear to represent a change of heart for Harper, who supported the U.S. decision to invade Iraq when he was the leader of Canada’s official Opposition.
It would have been a lot better if Harper would have said so in public face to face to George W. Bush when Bush still was in the White House. That he would have not waited till the Obama presidency before at last attacking that Iraq war, based on lies about non existent Iraqi weapons of mass destruction and non existent links of Iraq to 9/11 in New York City. But probably, that would have been too much to expect from this Conservative Canadian poodle of George W. Bush, like Tony Blair, now resigned in disgrace, was Bush’s British poodle.
US: We shot four Iraqis
IRAQ: The US military said on Friday that a US aircraft had fired on four men as they were attempting to plant a roadside bomb north of Baghdad, killing one and wounding two.
A Pentagon statement identified one of the men as a member of a US-allied counterinsurgency militia.
