Hi, I’m Tiffany! Welcome to Socially Unacceptable. Today I’m discussing Bill Clinton’s meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch – which she insists was just a casual, social conversation. How does this impact Hillary Rodham Clinton’s FBI email investigation?

US Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced Friday that she will back whatever recommendations for prosecution the FBI makes based on its inquiry into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server during her tenure as secretary of state. The investigation focuses on whether the Democratic Party’s presumptive presidential nominee mishandled classified information: here.

Loretta Lynch held a supposedly informal, impromptu meeting with former President Bill Clinton. This doesn’t look good, as she’s in charge of deciding whether or not to indict Hillary Clinton. Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola (ThinkTank), Jimmy Dore, and Michael Shure, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

“As if anymore fuel needed to be added to the conservative fire that the Obama administration is simply unable to conduct an impartial investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of private servers and emails while secretary of state, her husband decided to hold an impromptu meeting with the chief prosecutor in the investigation this week.

On Monday, Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch had what has been described as a chance meeting at the Phoenix Airport, where the former president allegedly held back his private jet on the tarmac to wait to board Lynch’s government plane to hold a 30-minute meeting that was described by Lynch as “primarily social.” More from CBS News:

An aide to Bill Clinton confirmed to CBS News that the meeting wasn’t planned in advance: President Clinton saw the attorney general on the tarmac and wanted to say hello, so he boarded her plane to talk.

The meeting came a day before the House Benghazi Committee released a report on the 2012 terror attacks in Libya. Lynch told reporters the two did not discuss the issue. Of course, the Justice Department and FBI are also investigating the security of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, which she used to conduct official business as secretary of state.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was interviewed at Federal Bureau of Investigation headquarters in Washington on Saturday, taking questions on her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2013: here.

HILLARY CLINTON hinted yesterday that her weekend interview with the FBI may signal that the Justice Department could soon end its probe into her use of a private email server while secretary of state.

The Democratic Party presumptive presidential candidate told the NBC Meet the Press programme: “I’ve been eager to do it and I was pleased to have the opportunity to assist the department in bringing its review to a conclusion.”

She said that the tone of her meeting with investigators had been civil and businesslike.

Ms Clinton insisted that she had no knowledge of any timeline for the review and would not comment on whether she was given an indication that charges would not be filed.

Her campaign said that she had given a voluntary interview for three-and-a-half hours on Saturday at FBI headquarters in Washington.

Both the FBI and the Justice Department declined to comment.

The interview, which had been expected to take place before the Democratic National Convention on July 25, did not suggest that Ms Clinton or anyone else is likely to face prosecution.

If the former senator and secretary of state and her aides are exonerated, they will hope it will lower the number of voters who question her trustworthiness.

Republican Party presumptive nominee Donald Trump has repeatedly said that the email issue undermines Ms Clinton’s fitness for office and suggested that she will receive leniency from a Democratic administration.

He tweeted yesterday: “It is impossible for the FBI not to recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton. What she did was wrong!”

While she was President Barack Obama’s secretary of state, Ms Clinton exclusively used a private email server for her government and personal emails rather than the State Department’s email system, giving her to control of which emails she released for scrutiny.

Mr Trump’s allegation of leniency was given legs last week when it was revealed that her husband, former president Bill Clinton, had held an impromptu meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch while at Phoenix airport, having flown in on separate planes.

Ms Clinton dismissed the meeting as “chance” and said the pair didn’t discuss the review.
