Calling it what it is, white terrorism
20 June 2016
White shooters are responsible for 2/3 of mass shootings in the U.S. Why don’t we call them “terrorists”?
Why is the killer of British MP Jo Cox not being called a “terrorist”? Here.

Ex-miner Kenny who tried in vain to save MP remains in hospital after knife attack
A PETITION calling for the pensioner who tried to stop the murderous attack on Labour MP Jo Cox to be honoured with the George Cross gathered momentum yesterday, with thousands of signatories backing the campaign.
Former miner Bernard Kenny, 77, is no stranger to heroic acts, having been a rescuer during the 1973 Lofthouse colliery disaster in Leeds, in which seven men died.
Last Thursday afternoon, he was outside the public library in Birstall, West Yorkshire, when he saw Ms Cox being shot and stabbed by her attacker.
Mr Kenny tried to intervene, but the attacker sank a 10-inch blade into him, piercing his liver and just missing his heart. Eyewitnesses said he lay on the ground mouthing: “I’m OK” to his wife Doreen.
Ms Cox, the MP for Batley and Spen, died from her injuries hours after the attack. She was 41. Mr Kenny remained in a stable condition at Leeds General Infirmary yesterday.
By the afternoon more than 10,000 people had signed the petition calling for his courage to be officially recognised.
The petition reads: “We believe that Bernard Kenny deserves the highest honour for bravery that this country can award.
“The Cabinet Office must make it so as quickly as possible, so that our nation’s thoughts are on love and bravery rather than hate and fear.”
Parliament was recalled yesterday for tributes to be paid to Ms Cox. Labour members sat with their arms interlocked and all MPs wore white carnations.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said Ms Cox was “filled with and fuelled by her love for humanity.”
Tory Prime Minister David Cameron said the mother-of-two fought for the rights of people she had never met because she was a “humanitarian to her core.”
Speaker John Bercow said Britain was united in “heartfelt solidarity” after the “repugnant attack.”
Ms Cox’s alleged killer, Thomas Mair, 52, has been charged with murder, grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday via video link from Belmarsh maximum security prison to confirm his real name.
On Saturday, Mair told Westminster magistrates’ court that his name was “death to traitors, freedom for Britain.”
