Dutch national garden bird count 2014 Top 10


This video is about Dutch garden birds.

Last weekend, there was the national garden bird count in the Netherlands.

The Top 10 bird species of that count were (translated):

    • For comparison, these were the 2013 results:

      National garden bird count results

      The numbers of birds counted were lower for most species in 2014 than in 2013. That is because so far, 2014 winter weather is much milder than in 2013. So, birds don’t need to go to gardens.

      For some species, like the chaffinch, this effect is stronger than for others.

      Jackdaws were at #6 in both years.
