This video from the USA says about itself:
Rare footage of 3 baby egret chicks a top a 100ft Monterey Pine Tree at the Elkhorn Slough Reserve, Monterey Bay, California.
The winter of 2008-2009 has only just started.
However, already over 1400 great egrets, mainly from eastern and central Europe, are in the Netherlands to winter.
Numbers are a bit higher than in previous years.
This map shows where great egrets wintered in the Netherlands in 2008; and how many were wintering per area.
