  3. Tian Tian may be pregnant

    Friday 09 August 2013

A giant panda at Edinburgh Zoo may be pregnant, keepers said today.

Tian Tian was artificially inseminated in April using semen from Yang Guang and frozen semen from Bao Bao, a “genetically important” panda which died last year.

Iain Valentine, director of the zoo’s panda project, said signs were “hugely exciting” because a panda has never been born in Britain.
