Mike Davis: Global capitalism can no longer guarantee humanity’s survival

Legendary writer and historian Mike Davis says that global capitalism has become a threat to humanity’s survival. “It no longer creates jobs, or guarantees people income or meaningful social roles,” says Davis. Since the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak, billionaires have increased their wealth by some 10%, according to the Institute for Policy Studies.

“We thought we lived in one of the most unequal countries in history, but of course, inequality will be far greater by the beginning of next year,” says Davis. “Ordinary Americans went to bed one night and they woke up, looked out the door and it was 1933.”
