Opossum and Carolina Wren Share Spotlight On Cornell FeederWatch Cam – Jan. 30, 2020
In a first for the cam, an opossum is spotted hoisting itself up the branches of a nearby tree (look on the left side of the frame) in broad daylight before a Carolina Wren pops by the feeder platform.

This reminds me of the confusion some have regarding the Opossum native to the Americas and the Australasian Possum. Both being marsupials, however, quite different.

Yes Carolyn, the ancestors of Virginia opossums and Australian possums diverged many millions of years ago.
