Sand wasp catches caterpillar

This 29 June 2018 video shows a red-banded sand wasp. It has caught a caterpillar, which it paralyses and brings to its breeding hole. In the hole, the wasp will lay an egg. When the egg will hatch, the wasp larva will immediately have food.

Anna Steur made this video in Heidestein nature reserve in Utrecht province in the Netherlands.
