Freeport mine toll hits six
INDONESIA: Rescuers have pulled another body from a collapsed gallery in a giant US-owned gold and copper mine, bringing the death toll to six.
The Big Gossan underground training facility at the PT Freeport Indonesia mine collapsed on Tuesday when 38 workers were undergoing safety training.
Ten miners were rescued.
Rescuers found the body of a 28-year-old miner buried under tons of rocks and soil early today.
They’re searching for 22 others who remain trapped and are feared dead.
