Trump hates due process. John Iadarola and Jayar Jackson, hosts of The Young Turks, discuss.

“Congress must pass smart, fast and reasonable Immigration Laws now,” the president tweeted. “Law Enforcement at the Border is doing a great job, but the laws they are forced to work with are insane.” “When people, with or without children, enter our Country”, he continued, “they must be told to leave without our Country being forced to endure a long and costly trial. Tell the people ‘OUT’, and they must leave, just as they would if they were standing on your front lawn. Hiring thousands of ‘judges’ does not work and is not acceptable – only Country in the World that does this!”

‘CRIED HYSTERICALLY’ A year-old baby boy being held in federal custody appeared in immigration court without his parents in Phoenix on Friday. The toddler briefly played with a ball, drank from a bottle, then “cried hysterically.” The judge said he was “embarrassed” to ask if the boy understood the proceedings. [HuffPost]

‘WHERE ARE THE BABIES?’ Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Saturday was confronted by protesters in Louisville over the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance border policy, with one man asking the Senate Majority Leader: “Where are the babies, Mitch?” [HuffPost]

CORPORATIONS OVER KIDS The Trump administration used intimidation and threats to try and block a noncontroversial breastfeeding resolution at the World Health Assembly earlier this year because it called on governments to “protect, promote and support breastfeeding.” Why? Reportedly because it didn’t want to upset the corporations that make breast milk substitutes. [HuffPost]

ICE IS ‘INTENTIONALLY GOING BACKWARDS’ The latest data on Immigration and Customs Enforcement reveals the agency is making increasingly indiscriminate arrests, going after people with traffic tickets and DUI and simple drug possession convictions. [HuffPost]
