Salmonella scare leads to recall
UNITED STATES: Cargill is recalling 16.33 million kilogrammes of ground turkey linked to a national salmonella outbreak that has killed one person in California and left at least 76 others sick.
Illnesses in the outbreak date back to March and have been reported in 26 states coast to coast.
The US transnational said on Wednesday that it was recalling fresh and frozen ground turkey products produced at the company’s Springdale, Arkansas plant from February 20 to August 2 due to possible contamination from the strain of salmonella linked to the illnesses.
