Protesters urge corruption end
Indonesia: Thousands of demonstrators have taken to the streets to protest at the government’s bail-out of banks during the financial crisis and its failure to combat corruption.
Protesters claimed that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had not delivered on his promise to eradicate corruption during the first 100 days of his second term, despite winning last year’s election with a resounding 60 per cent of the vote.
