Tonight, the European football championships have started in Switzerland.
The opening match was in Basel between the host country (jointly with Austria) and the Czech Republic.
In the first half of the match, neither team scored a goal.
Swiss player Alexander Frei had to stop playing because he got injured.
In the second half, Czech substitute Václav Svěrkoš scored the first goal of this championship.
The Swiss team tried to equalize, and almost succeeded, but not quite.
So, the Czech team won, 1 to zero.
