This is a great white pelican video.
An escapee bird, a great white pelican, after some time near Oegstgeest in the Netherlands, is now a bit further to the north, in the Floris Schouten Vrouwenpolder near Sassenheim village.
I saw it today from the train. It was cleaning its feathers near a ditch parallel to the railway.
It indeed spent some time in Spetember, October 2011 near Sassenheim, often with 2 white swans.
We could see him from the bike path along the A44.

Re #1: Thanks for your comment. I saw it with the two mute swans as well. As far as food is concerned, they are not competition: swans eat plants, pelicans fish.
