Danish mink fur business COVID-19 disaster

This 4 November 2020 video is called Denmark Wants to Cull All Farmed Minks Over COVID Fears.

Denmark to kill all mink to stop mutated coronavirus spreading to humans

Experts say the virus has been mutating in the animals and there have been 12 cases of those mutations being transmitted to humans in the country.

Denmark will cull millions of mink being farmed for their fur in order to stop a mutated version of the new coronavirus from spreading to humans, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced Wednesday.

Now detected at over 200 Danish mink farms, the virus has been mutating in the animals and there have been 12 cases of those mutations being transmitted to humans in the North Jutland region, the country’s infectious diseases institute has said.

“The mutated virus — via mink — can carry the risk that the upcoming vaccine will not work as it should,” Frederiksen, who is currently self-isolating after possible exposure to COVID-19, said in a virtual press conference.

She said continuing to breed mink during the pandemic “entails a significant risk to public health” and that Denmark has a responsibility to prevent a mutated coronavirus from spreading to other countries.

In October, the Scandinavian country already made plans to cull all infected mink, and those within a radius of around 8 kilometers from infected farms, but Wednesday’s announcement extended the cull to all animals, including those being used for breeding.

Frederiksen also apologized to Danish mink breeders, acknowledging they would lose their livelihoods.

Denmark is the world’s biggest producer of mink fur, with around 1,500 farmers churning out some 16 million furs per year.

Coronavirus outbreaks at mink farms have also been recorded in the Netherlands and Spain.

United States presidential election, still unclear

This video from the USA today (starts after 0:45) is called Election Night: Not A Biden Landslide| Rational Live!

The Democratic party may have learnt nothing from the 2016 Hillary Clinton defeat about having a ‘centrist‘ candidate against Trump.

By Patrick Martin in the USA:

As of early Wednesday morning, the US presidential election remains undecided. The fact that the election is so close, however, is a devastating indictment of the Democratic Party and its inability to present any progressive alternative to the fascistic politics of the Trump administration.

As of this writing, a narrow victory in the Electoral College is possible for either Democratic candidate Joe Biden or Republican President Donald Trump. Due to delays in counting mail ballots, which became a predominant feature in the election because of the threat of coronavirus, the results in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania may not be known until the end of the week.

Trump has captured Florida, Georgia, Texas and Ohio, and he held a narrow lead in North Carolina, all states he carried in 2016. But he failed in efforts to win New Hampshire and Minnesota, where he had come close in 2016, and appeared likely to fall short in Nevada as well.

If Trump were to pull out a victory in the Electoral College, he would become the second US president to be reelected by a smaller margin than his initial victory. The first was Barack Obama.

Even if Biden ekes out a victory, it will be nothing like the landslide that would be expected when running against an incumbent responsible for the deaths of 235,000 Americans in the global coronavirus pandemic, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, and open efforts to mobilize fascist forces and establish an authoritarian regime in Washington.

Late Wednesday night, Trump declared victory based on the initial results and made clear his plans to challenge the full counting of the votes. “As far as we are concerned, we already have won,” Trump said in a speech at the White House, adding “We will be going to the US Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop.”

In the days leading up to the election, Trump repeatedly insisted that the results of the election had to be decided on Election Day, which has no basis in law or the Constitution. Trump, who is in no position to declare victory, is continuing his political conspiracies.

Just prior to President Donald Trump’s final campaign rally Monday in Grand Rapids, Michigan it was revealed that several tombstones at a nearby Jewish cemetery had been vandalized with pro-Trump graffiti. Unknown perpetrators spray-painted red letters spelling out “TRUMP” on a row of tombstones at Ahavas Israel Cemetery, while two other gravesites had “MAGA,” an abbreviation for Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” scrawled in red graffiti: here.

Teachers strike against unsafe reopening of schools

This 2 November 2020 video from the USA says about itself:

Trump’s Death Cult Chants Attacking Dr. Fauci

Death cult’s just gonna death cult. John Iadarola and Francesca Fiorentini break it down on The Damage Report.

“At a rally, President Trump suggested he may fire Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the U.S.’s top infectious disease expert, but it would be very hard to do so. Dr. Fauci had said the country “could not possibly be positioned more poorly” as it heads into the winter.”

USA: On Monday, officials in the Washington D.C. Public School (DCPS) system announced a halt to their plans to reopen schools after hundreds of teachers began calling out sick. The sickout took place after a member-wide vote last week of the Washington Teachers Union (WTU) resulted in 93 percent of teachers declaring “no confidence” in Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser’s reopening plans, which had been slated to begin Nov. 9: here.

As schools reopened across France yesterday after the holidays, mass opposition among students and teachers at the Macron administration’s deadly school reopening policy is growing. Assemblies of teachers met at schools yesterday morning and resolved to strike against the lack of safe conditions to prevent the spread of the virusCoronavirus disaster in Trump’s USA continues. Images are being widely shared online showing students crammed like sardines into hallways, classes and cafeterias: here.

Yesterday, French riot police tear gassed and broke up protests by high school students calling for the closure of their schools to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic: here.
