A White House official said the ousting of State Department Inspector General Steve Linick came on the advice of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Democrats told NBC News that Linick had opened an investigation into possible misconduct from Pompeo in terms of a government employee who may have been doing personal errands both for him and his wife.
