  1. I’ve been fighting for paid leave for workers in Washington state and across the country for more than a decade — but the need is clearer than ever in this public health crisis we now face.

In the past few weeks, I have been trying as hard as I can to get Senate Republicans to join me in ensuring workers have access to paid leave during the COVID-19 pandemic and that small businesses get quickly reimbursed by the federal government. Unfortunately, every single time, Senate Republicans blocked my efforts. But I’m determined to get this done — and I won’t stop fighting for the paid leave working families across the country need.

Are you with me, Lola? Add your name now if you agree that every worker needs access to paid leave — especially during this public health crisis.

As Congress continues to work on legislation to respond to the COVID-19 crisis, I will keep doing everything in my power to ensure workers, families, students, and small businesses are put first — and that includes pushing to ensure all workers can stay home when they need to during this extremely difficult time.

Lola, guaranteeing paid leave for all workers in Washington state and nationwide has never been more important. Sign on right now to join us in the fight.

Finally, I cannot say this enough — please keep following public health guidelines, practicing social distancing, and doing your part to slow the spread of this virus. I will continue working to respond to this pandemic and ensure the people hardest hit by this crisis, especially our communities in Washington state, come first in everything we do.

Thinking of you and your families,

    Senator Patty Murray
