Dutch pro-climate march, 27 September

Dutch children demonstrate against climate change

This photo shows Dutch children demonstrating against climate change. Their sign says, translated: I want a future! There is NO Planet B.

Translated from Dutch trade union federation FNV, 19 September 2019:

A good job is no use if you don’t have a viable planet to live on. That is why we support the climate week organized in 150 countries. The climate week ends with a joint action in The Hague on Friday 27 September.

Why should you participate?

The FNV believes that the [Dutch government‘s] climate agreement falls short on important points. We want a fair distribution of benefits and burdens. Costs are now shifted to households and small or medium-sized businesses. We want to rule out that the climate agreement creates “climate poverty” especially for people with lower incomes. Without concrete measures to prevent that, the FNV will not put a signature under the agreement. …

Where: Koekamp, The Hague (near The Hague Central Station)
When: Friday, September 27, from 1 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
What: speeches, music, march through The Hague, 3.30 pm back at De Koekamp
