Dutch city pond puffin to bird shelter

This 30 March 2019 video shows the puffin which turned up unexpectedly yesterday in a pond in Dordrecht city in the Netherlands.

As the bird seemed to be not healthy, it was caught and brought to Karel Schot bird shelter in Rotterdam today, as this video shows.

At the shelter, the puffin got extra food and extra warmth. They said its body temperature, which was too low on arrival, was already rising.

If the bird recovers, then it will be freed in the North Sea where it belongs.
