Beetle, new for the Netherlands, discovered

Hydroglyphus hamulatus is a small aquatic beetle. It was so far only known from Baltic Sea countries, and only rarely there.

Today, hydrobiologist Rob Heusinkveld told Dutch Vroege Vogels radio that for the first time ever, this insect had been found in the Netherlands. In the Bussloo lake.

This beetle is small: only 1,7 millimeter.
