FACEBOOK HIT BY NEW DATA SCANDAL Based on internal documents and interviews with employees, former workers and business partners, a New York Times report reveals that Facebook shared vast swaths of user data with companies such as Spotify, Netflix, Apple and even Russian search giant Yandex. The report says the third-party companies could read and delete private messages, and could see who is on a message thread, and capture phone numbers, calendar entries and email addresses of users’ friends.
