Cuttlefish eats crab, video


This 9 November 2011 video shows a common cuttlefish eating a crab in the Oosterschelde estuary in Zeeland province in the Netherlands.

Scientists have characterized the microbiome of the European common cuttlefish, Sepia officinalis, an animal whose impressive camouflage skills and behavior have long been studied. They found its microbiome contains only two kinds of bacteria, Vibrionaceae and Piscirickettsiaceae: here.
