Saudi regime murders journalist, protest

Protest against murder of Saudi journalist

This AFP photo shows a protest at the consulate of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul, Turkey, against the disappearance and probably murder of a critical Saudi journalist by Saudi authorities at that consulate. In the center of the photo is Yemeni Ms Tawakkol Karman, winner of the Nobel Peace prize.

Translated from Dutch NOS TV today:

Today activists and journalists were at the Saudi consulate to get answers. A friend of [probably murdered journalist] Khashoggi called on the international community to increase the pressure on Saudi Arabia. That pressure has so far been limited as far as known.

Jamal Khashoggi writes for The Washington Post, among others. In the past he was editor-in-chief of a Saudi newspaper and a Saudi TV station. … but he turned out to be a critic of the current crown prince. After friends had been arrested, a column in a Saudi newspaper had been taken away from him and he had been warned about his tweets, he left for the United States last year.

As for sequels to my 7 October 2018 report on wildlife of Rügen island: lots of photos will have to be sorted out, so please wait a bit.
