Trump’s nominee Kavanaugh sexual assault trouble, musical parody

This 21 September 2018 satirical music video from Britain says about itself:

Pussy Grabilow – Groper Kavanaugh (Copacabana parody)

Donald Trump‘s Barry Manilow tribute act leaps to the defence of Brett Kavanaugh.

LYRICS:

Her name was Christine, she was a lying bitch
If it was as bad as she says, why weren’t there any charges?
Oh yeah, that’s right, ‘cause she’s just Fake News
Just a dirty, stinking liar
Let’s get Brett Kavanaugh hired
He won’t be a hard-on
He’ll let me self-pardon
And I’ll fire everyone else
Like that show I starred on

Let’s get Groper, Groper Kavanaugh
We’ll celebrate smoking Havanas
Let’s get Groper, Groper Kavanaugh
It’s probably the left that’s sending her death threats
Let’s get Groper, he’ll get me off

NEW KAVANAUGH ACCUSER A second woman, Deborah Ramirez, came forward Sunday with new allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, telling The New Yorker that Kavanaugh exposed himself and thrust his penis in her face during a party when they were students at Yale University. Kavanaugh denied the claims in a statement, saying the event “from 35 years ago did not happen. The people who knew me then know that this did not happen, and have said so. This is a smear, plain and simple.” [HuffPost]

FEINSTEIN: KAVANAUGH’S HEARING SHOULD BE CALLED OFF Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, on Sunday called for the cancellation of Thursday’s hearing for Kavanaugh following Ramierez’s story. “The FBI must investigate ALL allegations,” she tweeted. [HuffPost]

WHITE HOUSE ATTACKS SECOND KAVANAUGH ACCUSER In a lengthy statement titled “What You Need To Know About The Allegations Made In The New Yorker” released late Sunday, Trump aides made a bullet-point list highlighting elements of Ramirez’s story that zeroed in on her admissions of drunkenness and her reluctance to speak about the alleged assault. [HuffPost]

GOP REP. SLAMS KAVANAUGH ALLEGATIONS AS “CHARACTER ASSASSINATION” Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) on Saturday went after Christine Blasey Ford, calling her claim that Kavanaugh assaulted her when they were in high school “character assassination.” “I’m thinking, is there any man in this room that wouldn’t be subjected to such an allegation? A false allegation?” King said. [HuffPost]

Women’s rights groups are planning a nationwide walkout on Monday to show support for the women making accusations against Kavanaugh.

KAVANAUGH: ‘I’M NOT GOING ANYWHERE’ In a Fox News interview, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh said he’s “not going anywhere” and continued to deny the sexual assault allegations against him. The nominee also trotted out a novel defense: He was a virgin in high school and for “many years thereafter,” so couldn’t have possibly attempted to sexually assault anyone. 1. Dear ,

Please forward this message to everyone else you know on your own
    email list.

The 15 year old girl who Above The Law Kavanaugh tried to gang rape
was afraid that he might accidently kill her when he put his hand
over her mouth. That counts as a death threat for us.

And even today she still lives in fear. She was afraid to come
forward for months, and rightly so. Now that she has, she is getting
more death threats and her family has been forced to flee their home
    and go into hiding.

Ah, yes, death threats, the right wing version of policy activism. We
denounce death threats by anybody. And if anyone on the left does it
they are in fact on the right whether they know it or not.

Death threat then . . . death threats now. NOTHING has changed for
Christine Blasey Ford, the victim of Above The Law Kavanaugh.

Call your Senators right now and tell them to call him what he is,
“Above The Law Kavanaugh,” and to categorically reject this
    nomination.

When we first called this an attempted gang rape, committed along
with his blackout drunk refusing to testify now friend, we sure got
that one right. We just learned that in Above The Law Kavanaugh’s
prep school yearbook he lauded the idea of a so-called “devil’s
triangle,” which we are told means two guys jumping on one girl . . .
EXACTLY what these criminals attempted here.

Despite the fact that the Senate Republicans were forced by YOUR
political pressure to provide for an opportunity to testify for the
Ford, they are still refusing to do any actual investigation. They
don’t want to hear any other witnesses. More on that tomorrow.

But the point of the immediate moment is that the Republicans are
demanding that the Ford consent by 10AM Friday to a hastily scheduled
Monday hearing, and further demanding she stand and deliver her
    intended testimony up front.

Our best prediction, as we write these words Thursday afternoon, is
that Ford will confirm that she will appear for a hearing, though
perhaps not Monday, but will politely tell Grassley to go suck an egg
about a 3 day heads up prepared statement on such an unreasonable
    hustle of a time line.

This will not be over soon, if we will have anything to say about it,
unless the Kavanaugh nomination is withdrawn first. Demonstrate what
you have to say about it with the bumper sticker link above.

  2. We want to make sure you saw this email. UltraViolet members, along with allies from NARAL, Working Families Party, CREDO, MoveOn, and more are showing up across the country on Monday to make sure key senators like Senator Ted Cruz get the message loud and clear–We Believe Survivors. We Believe Christine. We Still Believe Anita. Vote NO on Kavanaugh.

The stakes could not be higher–we must show up to stop this sexual predator and anti-woman judge from joining the Supreme Court.

Sign up to let us know you’ll join the Believe Survivors/Stop Kavanaugh event at Senator Ted Cruz’s office at Lee Park Tower II, 3626 N. Hall St. in Dallas this Monday, September 24, at noon. When you sign up on the page, let us know if you can help with printing signs or speaking at the event.

    Thank you, so much.
    -The UltraViolet Action Team

    Dear Linda,

This is not a drill–we have a real chance to stop Kavanaugh, an anti-woman sexual predator, from getting a lifetime seat on the Supreme Court. But only if we get really loud right now. Things are moving quickly–as soon as this Monday, the Senate Judiciary Committee may hold a hearing on Dr. Blasey Ford’s accusations and it’s crucial that the the Senate and media see widespread opposition to Kavanaugh.1

Your senator, Senator Ted Cruz, is a key vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Can you be a part of the movement by attending a protest at Senator Ted Cruz’s office at Lee Park Tower II, 3626 N. Hall St. in Dallas this Monday, September 24, at noon?

This is an all hands on deck moment to stop a sexual predator from being on our nation’s highest court.

Trump’s cronies are eager to put this anti-woman, anti-LGBTQ, anti-affirmative action, sexual predator on the Supreme Court and they are doing everything they can to discredit, shame, and punish Dr. Blasey Ford for speaking out. In fact, Senator Orrin Hatch said she must be “mixed up,” and Senator Susan Collins proposed putting Blasey Ford on trial instead of Kavanaugh.2, 3

These responses are unacceptable, but sadly not shocking. All too often, women who come forward are shamed, while sexual predators are protected. Luckily, opposition to Trump’s Supreme Court nominee is at an all-time high, thanks to Dr. Blasey Ford.4 On Monday, Senator Ted Cruz needs to know we are watching.

Can you make sure it’s clear by attending a speak out on Monday, September 24, the day of the hearing, at noon at Lee Park Tower II, 3626 N. Hall St., Dallas?

    Thanks for speaking out!

  3. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford bravely decided to testify in the Senate this Thursday – despite death threats that forced her to relocate her family for safety.

And she may not be alone. Deborah Ramirez, a Yale classmate, has now reported a sexual assault at a drunken fraternity party. And attorney Michael Avenatti informed the Senate that multiple witnesses are prepared to testify that Kavanaugh targeted women with alcohol and drugs for gang rapes.

Republican Senators have already made up their mind to ignore Dr. Ford and the other women. Mitch McConnell grotesquely declared, “We’re going to plow right through it.”

Women and men across the U.S. need to show our support for all the women who are risking everything to hold Brett Kavanaugh accountable for his sexual assaults. Here’s how:

    1. Monday 1pm ET / 10am PT: National Walkout and Moment of Solidarity

Join #MeToo leader Tarana Burke, along with anti-violence and survivor-led groups, to show support for Dr. Blasey Ford and all survivors of sexual violence. Wear the color black and walk out (of your home, workplace, classroom, wherever you are) — and capture it with a selfie to post on social media with the hashtag #BelieveSurvivors.

    2. Thursday 12pm your time: National Solidarity Speakout: We #BelieveChristine

Dr. Blasey Ford is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about her attempted rape on Thursday. That same day, on Thursday, September 27, survivors will gather at their Senators’ offices across the country and share their own testimonies of assault. They will #HearOurVoice.

Find an action near you here. If you don’t see one listed in your area, create your own! Wear black and write “I BELIEVE” on your hands in marker. Bring a letter asking your Senator to vote NO on Kavanaugh – print this sample letter or write your own.

    3. Support the “We Believe All the Women” GoFundMe campaign:

We cannot repeat the 1991 Anita Hill disaster that set women back for years. We can’t allow Dr. Christine Blasey Ford be demeaned or discredited for telling her story. A coalition of organizations and activists gathered in coalition to support her against vicious and vile attacks on her character. Now there are more women. We must all assist these courageous women with their legal and security expenses. All funds raised will go directly to the women pursuant to their instructions. This is a tangible way to support. Please help if you can.

    4. Watch live broadcasts of these and other protests by act.tv on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

  4. Dear ,

Email Christine Blasey Ford’s attorney, Debra Katz, at
katz@kmblegal.com (also cc to banks@kmblegal.com), and ask her to
file a Maryland attempted rape criminal complaint right now, on the
grounds that she can’t get a fair hearing in the U.S. Senate. Do it
right now. You could be the one to help change the world in a
    dramatic way.

    Boors will be boors.

According to what supporters of Above The Law Kavanaugh are now
saying, it wasn’t so bad, just a little attempted gang rape.

It took a major staff and congressional intervention to keep Trump
from indulging his inner boor for as much as a couple days. But all
that conclusively ended yesterday when “if it was so bad” Trump
insinuated in a tweet that it was all Christine Blasey Ford’s fault
because she didn’t have “loving” parents, because of something she
was afraid to tell ANYONE about for years.

This was even too much for Senator Susan Collins, who called Trump’s
    callous cheap shots “appalling.”

But as we know from painful past experience, boors will be boors,
starting with Above The Law Kavanaugh himself, who in one of his
dissents on the appeals court chastised a rape victim for not living
with the consequences of the crime committed against her will, and
who would have been a rapist himself but for Christine Blasey Ford’s
miracle escape. And who knows who else he sexually attacked who is
still either afraid, or politically constrained, from speaking out,
with his “What happens in Georgetown stays in Georgetown” wisecrack.

Call your members of Congress right now, and protest the gross abuse
of procedural power by the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee.

Because the boorishness extends to the Republicans on the Senate
Judiciary Committee as well, with Grassley’s repeated absolute
ultimatums, including three deadlines in a single day on Friday.

Yeah, they’re all getting in on the boorishness act. Republican
Congressman Ralph Norman publicly joked about Ruth Bader Ginsburg
getting groped by Abraham Lincoln, managing to be both sexist boorish
and ageist boorish in the same breath. Betcha he makes a lot of crude
racist jokes too, at least privately.

Boors . . . the whole lot of them, precisely the kind of insularly
insensitive boorishness that made Above The Law Kavanaugh think he
could get away with gang rape in the first place. Or as Trump would
say, when you’re a rich white man (or boy) with power they “let” you
    do it.

Frankly, we hope Ford’s attorney responds by immediately filing an
actual criminal complaint in Maryland, as urged above, where there is
no statute of limitations on attempted rape, and where one would hope
someone would take testimony from an actual percipient witness like
Mark Judge. If she can’t get a fair hearing from the U.S. Senate,
maybe she can get a fair hearing there.

This is exactly what the Republican’s are boorishly determined not to
do. Instead they are intentionally and deliberately trying to reduce
this most serious accusation, which implicates the very integrity of
our judicial selection process, to a he said she said, perversely
don’t want to hear what anybody else has to say, thing.

This will not be over soon, if we will have anything to say about it,
unless the Kavanaugh nomination is withdrawn first. Demonstrate what

  5. There are now three different accusations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Days after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford came forward about being sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh while they were in high school, another woman, Deborah Ramirez, came forward about being sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh while they were at Yale.1 Then just yesterday, Kavanaugh was accused of drugging women for gang rape.2

To discredit these claims, Republican senators are doing something truly appalling: They will be forcing Dr. Blasey Ford to go before the Senate this Thursday so they can bully, mock, and smear her in front of the entire country.3

What every single senator should be doing is demanding Kavanaugh withdraw his nomination to the Supreme Court. With all these accusations mounting, a huge push from constituents might just do the trick. Will you call Sens. Cornyn and Cruz now?

Here are the number to call. After you call, let us know how it went here.

    Sen. Cornyn – (202) 224-2934
    Sen. Cruz – (202) 224-5922

It is always best to speak in your own words, but here are some points you should cover:

Hello, my name is ___ from (city, state). I’m calling to urge the senator to prevent Brett Kavanaugh from joining the Supreme Court.

The accusations of sexual assault are horrifying. It is Kavanaugh, not the women, who should be in the hot seat. Yet senators are again demonizing survivors in front of the entire country.

I believe Dr. Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez. They have nothing to gain and everything to lose in this situation. Brett Kavanaugh, on the other hand, has repeatedly lied to the Senate committee and proven himself unfit to sit on the highest court in the land.
The Republican attempt to rush a hearing signals that sexual violence is not being taken seriously, and that senators don’t care to take the appropriate time to actually do it right. It’s disgusting.

Nearly 30 years ago, senators made the horrible choice of vilifying Anita Hill for being sexually harassed by now-Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas. I urge you not to make the same mistake and demand Kavanaugh withdraw his bid to be a Supreme Court justice.

    Make a call now.

    Thank you for speaking out.
