Maybe the left-wing governments were just as corrupt and ineffective as the right-wing governments. Maybe the people don’t want the left any more . Maybe it is time for a change.

Limiting myself to the two biggest countries in Latin America, Brazil and Argentina: in Brazil, the right-wing came to power not through elections, but through a coup, with trumped-up charges against elected center-left President Dilma Rousseff; charges not of corruption, but of depicting the budget too optimistically:
