This video from the USA says about itself:
Trump‘s Real NATO Agenda? More Money for War
13 July 2018
As prominent US media and political figures warned that he might dismantle NATO, President Trump wrapped up the summit by bragging that he had convinced allied members to spend more on the military. We speak to Bill Hartung, Director of Arms & Security Project, Center for International Policy.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has reaffirmed Canada’s staunch support for NATO and increased its commitments to US-led NATO military missions. Canada is expanding its involvement in NATO’s drive to threaten and encircle Russia and is assuming command of a NATO training mission in Iraq. These actions underscore the determination of Canada’s ruling elite to aggressively pursue its own predatory interests and ambitions around the world, under conditions of deepening inter-imperialist rivalries: here.

Yeah. Just this morning, the Dutch government’s water department reacted to news there is lots of thrash originally from France and Wallonia in the valley of the Meuse river where it is the Dutch-Belgian border. The river is now almost dry because of low rainfall. That would be an ideal time to clean up the thrash in the valley.
Photos of the Meuse valley now are at

However, the government said: ‘There is no money’. Yes, if politicians give in to Trump’s demands to spend lots of money on defective expensive F-35 warplanes (like happens in Belgium) and on other weapons (United States made weapons, Trump says; in which Trump himself has financial interests); THEN there is no money to clean up the Meuse valley. And no money for education; for fighting climate change; for art; for decent workers’ wages; etc. etc.

UPDATE: after public outcry, the government did find money:

URGENT: Dangerous anti-environment riders slipped into the National Defense Authorization Act.
We’ve got a short window before a bill is finalized. We need to mobilize — and fast.
Right now every gift to fight back is being triple matched.
Lola — we’re sounding the alarm. Republican leaders in Congress have just moved to backdoor a series of anti-environment provisions into law.
Their plan includes a policy to weaken public land protections without public review or input. There’s a massive expansion of mining operations. Gutting the Endangered Species Act. Undermining protections for whales and other marine mammals.
They’ve added all these provisions to the National Defense Authorization Act bill. This is a must-pass military bill that isn’t supposed to include riders on the environment.
There’s a short window before a bill is finalized. We need to be flooding congressional offices with letters and calls, organizing in key districts, and getting teams to Capitol Hill. As it stands now, we can’t do it all. Not without your help.
A major donor has agreed to triple every donation made to help stop this attack on the environment.
Adding these kinds of riders to a must-past military bill is nearly unprecedented. When Senator McCain led the Armed Services Committee, he didn’t let unrelated anti-environmental riders into these bills.
But with McCain’s ailing health, right now the committee is being chaired by vehement climate change denier Senator Inhofe. He’s letting these riders in.
But winning this fight IS possible right now, even with the deck stacked against us. The House and Senate conference committee has to agree on a bill before it goes back to each chamber for another vote. The trick is to ensure we have pro-environment members’ backs — so NO ONE caves and allows an unacceptable bill to move forward.
It’s absolutely critical that we show our strength — flooding Congress with angry calls and letters — so that the conference committee decides it’s not worth the risk and takes out every anti-environment rider in this bill.
I hope you’ll pitch in to help. To keep our work going, we need to raise $250,000 before July 31. If everyone reading this right now pitched in just $5, we’d blow through that goal in minutes. I really can’t overstate how important this is.
Don’t let polluter-backed leaders in Congress roll back some of our most critical environmental safeguards. Please, renew your membership with LCV today for $5 or more »
