In this 18 June 2018 video, five red squirrels, probably a mother and her four youngsters, play at being a train on a tree.
Jose Uitslag made this video in her garden in the Netherlands.

I don’t know whether North American squirrel species do this as well 🙂

I’ve observed squirrels in Pitsunda, Crimea, as well as in the Puerto Rican forrest, and none of them did anything close to a patterned group activity.

In the Crimea, there are no red squirrels, Wikipedia says.
I don’t know which species lives in Puerto Rico, but I don’t think it is Eurasian reds (unless introduced).

They were not red, but are you saying it’s only red squirrels who engage in group activities?

No, I think other squirrel species also have group activities.
But I don’t know about this ‘playing train’
American eastern grey squirrels might do it: ‘The eastern gray squirrel is one of very few mammalian species that can descend a tree head-first.’
