This 8 May 2018 video shows jackdaws using a pony’s hair as nest material.
AG Hols in the Netherlands made this video.
Jackdaws recognize each other’s voices and respond in greater numbers to warnings from familiar birds than strangers, new research shows: here.
The pony tolerates this so well — and the birds save all that grooming we have to do in Spring to remove the old winter coat :)) Great post! Dawn

Thanks for your kind words, Dawn!
The pony tolerates this, because as temperature rises in spring, it wants to get rid of its warm winter coat.

Yes — I removed LOTS of dead, shedding winter coat from my horses earlier today, and enjoyed my very first ride of Spring :)) Hurray!!! :))

I also enjoyed the way the pony held perfectly calm and still until the birds flew off, then shook his head, and licked. That’s what horses do when they are happy/relieved of stress or tension :)) The licking releases endorphins :))
