This video from the USA says about itself:
Trump Wants Her Running CIA, Germany Wants Her Arrested
18 March 2018
Germany would love to arrest Gina Haspel. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down.
On Tuesday morning, President Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson via Twitter. In the same tweet, the president announced CIA Director Mike Pompeo, who is a close ally of the Koch brothers, would be nominated to become the new secretary of state. Trump also tapped CIA Deputy Director Gina Haspel to head the CIA. Haspel was directly involved in the CIA’s torture program under George W. Bush. She was responsible for running a secret CIA black site in Thailand in 2002 where one prisoner was waterboarded 83 times and tortured in other ways. Both Mike Pompeo and Gina Haspel must now face Senate confirmations, but barring any Republican defections, both can be confirmed without any Democratic support. Last year, the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights asked German prosecutors to issue an arrest warrant for Haspel for her role in the torture program. For more, we speak with Wolfgang Kaleck, founder and general secretary of the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights.

BEIJING BUSINESS TIES CIA Director Mike Pompeo, Trump’s nominee for secretary of state, failed to disclose business ties to two companies controlled by the Chinese government, documents seen by HuffPost reveal. Samantha Bee has also been looking at Pompeo’s history, concluding on Wednesday night’s show he’s a “racist, warmongering homophobe.” [HuffPost]

GINA TRIED TO JUMP Gina Haspel, Trump’s controversial pick to lead the CIA, reportedly tried to withdraw her nomination to avoid potential damage to the agency’s reputation. Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted over the weekend that Haspel should be confirmed because she’s a woman — completely overlooking her alleged links to torture and CIA black sites. [HuffPost]
Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly announced Saturday that he would vote to confirm Gina Haspel as director of the CIA, virtually assuring that her nomination will be confirmed by the Senate when it is brought to a vote sometime in the next two weeks: here.
DEMS SPLIT ON HASPEL Gina Haspel will likely become CIA director after two Democrats — Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) — announced they intend to support her confirmation. [HuffPost]

HERE’S WHAT THE CIA’S TORTURE PROGRAM LOOKS LIKE Drawings done in captivity by the first prisoner known to undergo “enhanced interrogation” portray his account of what happened to him in vivid and disturbing ways during the four years he was held in secret prisons by the C.I.A. [New York Times]
Seton Hall University School of Law’s Center for Policy and Research issued a highly significant report on Wednesday called “How America Tortures.” The report provides a detailed description of the origins, legal justifications for and nature of the torture program carried out by the US government in the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001: here.
