At the end of May, Donald Trump, president of the United States, comes to Belgium to attend the NATO summit. These past months, Trump caused outrage all over the world: dividing and excluding people, denying climate change, intimidating the media, phasing out solidarity, …

We stand united in saying ‘No!’ to Trump, his policy and his European counterparts. Join us at the protest march Wednesday 24 May at 5 PM in Brussels.

Stand Up to Trump spokeswoman Maz Saleem warns US president is a danger to peace

PROGRESSIVE forces must unite against the “vile racism of nazi sympathiser Donald Trump“, campaigners have said.

Stand up to Trump coalition spokeswoman Maz Saleem said that it was vital to build the broadest possible opposition to the US president as he poses a major threat to the world.

She was speaking at the People’s Assembly Take Back Manchester Festival on Saturday. She warned of the danger that the increasingly belligerent Mr Trump poses in bringing the world to the brink of nuclear war with North Korea.

“He could lead us to war,” she told those gathered. “It is a war that this country could be drawn into and we need to stand up to Trump and his vile racism and Islamophobia.”

She said that Mr Trump’s “appeasement of nazis” had contributed to the rise in crime against Muslims in Britain.

PM Theresa May, who cosies up to Mr Trump, is evidently “too weak to challenge his bigotry and Islamophobia“, she continued.

National Education Union joint president Louise Regan explained how schools are stifled by the divisive Prevent programme which leaves people in fear of arrest.

She condemned the government for using Prevent to target the Muslim community. Muslim parents were “advising their children to be silent at school so that they do not fall foul of the programme,” she added.

Labour MP Afzal Khan said that we need to show maximum unity and encourage people to join the week of action in Manchester opposing the Tories while the party holds its annual conference.
