Finsbury Park Mosque: Victims of van attack still in hospital

Thursday 24th August 2017

TWO victims of the Finsbury Park mosque terror attack remain in hospital two months after a van drove into worshippers leaving Ramadan night prayers.

One has lost vision in one eye while another victim has suffered serious head injuries, according to the chairman of the Finsbury Park Mosque Mohammed Kozbar.

Makram Ali died at the scene from multiple injuries and seven others were hospitalised.

The driver of the van, Darren Osborne, was charged with murder and attempted murder in June and will appear again at the Old Bailey in November.

Mr Kozbar said the Muslim community is still recovering from the attack which happened in the early hours of June 19, outside the Muslim Welfare House on Seven Sisters Road.

He said: “Everybody in Islington has responded very well with a show of solidarity, and some have offered help.

“We managed to raise £38,000 for the victims and we’ve distributed all the money.”
